I Entered the U.S. Legally
If you are physically present based on a legal entry, you can adjust status, which allows you to become a permanent resident without leaving the US. You must file several forms including an I-130 and I-485 with supporting evidence including proof of a good-faith marriage and financial support. If successful, you will be given permanent resident status (if married more than 2 years at time of approval) or conditional permanent resident status (if married less than 2 years at time of approval).
If conditional, you must apply to lift the conditional status after 2 years (learn more).
